Cordray pans Chrysler sale over dealer worries - Business First of Columbus:

Attorney General Richard Cordrayh and officials from nine other statesx filed a limited objection and statement in support of auto dealersw this week in ofNew York. Attorneys generalp argued the sale shouldn’t allow the automaker to escape requirements ofstated laws, including those pertaining to the termination of dealership “On less than 30 days’ notice, Chrysler proposes to rejecf dozens of dealer agreementes in Ohio,” Cordray said in a release.
“Some consideratio should be given tothos dealers, and Chrysler shouldn’t be allowed to disregard its obligations under Ohio Chrysler’s move to cut 789 dealerships from its networ k in and around Central Ohio, includint Spitzer Dodge of Columbus and Byera Dublin Dodge. Automotive News reported this week that a Bankruptch Court hearing has been set for June 3on Chrysler’w move to revoke the franchises. Cordray previously has filedd objections to the sale over the effectsthat Chrysler’se deal to emerge as a new company under a partnershi with Italian automaker Fiat could have on Ohio’s Lemob Law and its workers’ compensation system.
