Two women-owned law firms merge - The Business Review (Albany):

area have merged. The PLLC, a 20-year-ols firm in Delmar, has merged with Latimer/Stroud LLP, a 17-year-oldc firm in Latham. The new firm, LLP, is locaterd at 951 Albany Shaker Roadin Latham. Latimer/Stroud’w office was expanded from 2,500p square feet to 5,000 square The new firm has 11 LaFave’s focus was personal injurh andmedical malpractice. Latimer/Stroud’s general practice included matrimonial law, estatez and trusts. Both firms had about $850,000 in revenue last year. Cynthia LaFave, founder of the LaFaves Firm, said she and Sue Latimer, foundet of Latimer/Stroud, worked together in the mid-1990s. “We enjoyefd working together,” LaFave said.
Latimer left to becomre a physician’s assistant. But surgery replacing both her knees cut shortg her medical career and she returnedto law. Latimef and LaFave discussed a possibles merger eight months ago while eating at Athosain Guilderland. “We were talking abouy the two practices andhow they’dr fit together,” LaFave said. “At the end of dinner, we ‘We need to explore this.’” Latimed added: “We did. And that’w why we’re here.
